Allied Health Assistance

Practical therapy support, led by your goals and guided by your therapist Our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work under the guidance of our occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and counsellors to provide regular, hands-on support that helps people build their skills and confidence in real-world settings. AHA sessions are a cost-effective way to get more consistent support, with activities that are fun, goal-oriented, and tailored to the person. Every AHA session is planned and overseen by a qualified therapist, so you can feel confident that the work being done is meaningful, safe, and evidence-informed.

Who we support

Our AHAs work with:

  • Children who need extra practice with speech, fine motor, or sensory skills

  • Teens building independence, confidence, or social communication

  • Adults with disability working on everyday life skills

  • Families wanting help with home programs or consistent routine support

  • NDIS participants looking to stretch their therapy budgets while keeping quality high

AHA sessions can happen at home, in the community, at school, or anywhere that goals are being worked on.

What AHA sessions can support

  • Practising speech and language activities provided by your speech pathologist

  • Developing sensory or regulation strategies from your OT

  • Supporting mealtime routines and feeding programs

  • Building capacity with shopping, cooking, or catching public transport

  • Practising communication or social skills in community settings

  • Supporting consistency with home programs and daily routines

  • Helping children participate in play, self-care, or classroom tasks

  • Supporting emotional regulation strategies guided by your counsellor

How it works

All AHA sessions are:

  • Planned and reviewed by your lead therapist

  • Linked clearly to your goals and therapy plan

  • Adapted over time as your needs or progress change

  • Delivered by kind, trained team members who care deeply about the people they support

  • Focused on building real-life skills, not just ticking boxes

We’ll never offer AHA support unless we know it will be a good fit. Every plan is created with you, not just for you.
