Discover how Grow Allied Health celebrates Harmony Week in Australia and our ongoing commitment to cultural inclusion in allied health services.
Celebrating Harmony Week at Grow Allied Health
At Grow Allied Health, we believe that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. That’s why Harmony Week is an important time for us—not only to celebrate the cultural diversity of our team and clients, but to strengthen our commitment to inclusion in everything we do.
Held in March each year, Harmony Week is all about inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. It’s a time to reflect on what makes our communities vibrant and to actively create spaces where diversity is embraced.

What Is Harmony Week?
Harmony Week coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March. In Australia, it’s a national celebration of multiculturalism—recognising that our differences make us stronger.
The official colour for the week is orange, symbolising meaningful connection, communication, and mutual respect.
How We Celebrate Harmony Week at Grow Allied Health
Here’s how our team gets involved during Harmony Week, and how we extend our values of inclusion throughout the year:
Multicultural Show and Tell
Each year, we host a Harmony Week morning tea, where team members are invited to bring a dish that reflects their cultural heritage—or simply something they love. It's a chance to share stories, learn about each other’s backgrounds, and celebrate through food (which, let’s be honest, is the universal language!).
Wearing Orange to Show Our Support
Throughout the week, our team proudly wears orange to show our support for inclusiveness and cultural respect. It’s a small but visible way to spread awareness and spark conversations in our clinics and communities.
Cultural Safety in Practice
At Grow Allied Health, cultural inclusion isn’t just a one-week focus—it’s part of our clinical practice all year round. We:
- Provide culturally responsive care, adapting our approach to meet the unique needs of each client
- Use interpreting services where needed to ensure accessible communication
- Encourage ongoing cultural safety training for all team members
- Review our materials and systems to ensure they're inclusive and welcoming to people from all backgrounds
Reflecting and Listening
During Harmony Week, we also take time as a team to reflect on questions like:
- How can we make our services more inclusive?
- What barriers might clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds face when accessing care?
- How can we listen more deeply and learn from the communities we serve?
These conversations help us grow, both individually and as a practice.
Community Connections
We believe that inclusive care happens best when it's grounded in community. We’re always looking to strengthen relationships with local multicultural organisations, schools, and family support services—so we can better support clients holistically.
Inclusion Is Ongoing at Grow Allied Health
Harmony Week is a special reminder of the power of inclusion—but our commitment doesn’t end there. At Grow Allied Health, we’re constantly learning, adapting, and working toward culturally safe care for every individual who walks through our doors.
If you’d like to learn more about our inclusive approach, or if you're looking for allied health services that truly value diversity, we’d love to hear from you.
