About me
As the newest counsellor at Grow Allied Health, I work with children, teens and young adults as they learn to recognise the quiet strengths they carry, the parts of themselves that make them beautifully unique and the ways they can move through the world with confidence and self trust. My approach is warm, flexible and client led, blending therapeutic conversation, creative expression, emotional regulation work and a strong focus on creating a space where each person feels safe to simply be as they are without judgement, pressure or expectation.I draw on play based approaches to connect with the kids in a way that feels natural, engaging and safe always working at a pace that honours each individuals readiness. My work is grounded in trauma informed principles with an emphasis onsafety, trust and collaboration. Together, the client and I explore self expression, emotional regulation and personal boundaries - learning not only how to recognise and communicate their own needs but also how to understand and respect the boundaries of others.I work alongside each young person to identify meaningful goals that may include things like building emotional awareness, managing anxious thoughts, developing social confidence, navigating school or friendship challenges, supporting life transitions, or simply learning to feel more at ease in themselves.I’m currently completing my Graduate Diploma of Counselling through the University of Canberra building on years spent in community services supporting young people, and families across mental health, youth work, aged care and disability. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for people’s individual stories and my belief that growth happens best when we feel gently supported, empowered and never rushed.
Outside of work I’m usually in the kitchen cooking (and happily feeding those aroundme), or spending time with my beautiful dogs and the friends I treasure. What I love most about this work is watching someone gently build trust in themselves, learning to make choices, navigate challenges and grow more confident in their ability to move through life on their own terms.
